Students cash in for extra recess

The PBS program at Coal City Elementary School recognizes second and third grade students who display positive behavior. The program offers Coaler Cash to students who show kindness, follow directions, always try their best,” just all the amazing things we see these kids do everyday,” said Cristina Schultz, the school’s counselor.

Students can use their Coaler Cash to ‘buy’ special things like extra recess and free time with a friend.

Schultz reports that last week 30 students cashed in and received extra recess and free time with a friend.
