As we welcome our second graders to Coal City Elementary School, we understand that they may have some nervousness heading to a new school year. In order to ease the transition, students in Ms. Foley’s class made “worry stones” after they read the story “Alma and the Worry Stone.” Students were able to choose their colors and designs for their stones that they use throughout the day when they are feeling overwhelmed or nervous.
