On Feb. 14, Ms. Martino’s class celebrated Valentine's Day. They started the day doing some two-step math word problems involving candy and Valentine's Day cards. Then the class made 'Love Mugs' where students named five things in which they love. A class party was held in the afternoon where students passed out Valentine cards to their classmates, ate some yummy treats and then everyone played games. Students played a ring toss game, played Valentine's themed bingo, and had a marshmallow relay race with straws.
“We played a Valentine's Day trivia game in which students learned about the origin of Valentine's Day, fun facts about candy, and learned how much money Americans spend each year on their pets for Valentine's Day. It was a fun and exciting day,” the teacher said.
