Hello and welcome to my page!! I'm Abby Dimitrijevic, the School Psychologist at the Coal City Early Childhood Center and Coal City Elementary School. I have been on staff since 2010 and a School Psychologist since 2005. I am a graduate of Coal City High School, I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and English from the University of Illinois at Chicago. I earned a Masters of Education degree in Educational Psychology and an Educational Specialist degree in School Psychology from Loyola University. I am a Nationally Certified School Psychologist and a member of the Illinois School Psychology Association and the National Association of School Psychologists. I also earned a Masters of Science degree in Educational Leadership from the University of St. Francis.
In my role as a School Psychologist I am a member of school teams that support students' ability to learn and teachers' ability to teach. I help share knowledge in the areas of child development, mental health, learning, assessment, and behavior, to help students succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally. School psychologists also work with families, teachers, school administrators, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, effective, and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school, and the community.
