Mrs. Friddle's Class Off to a Great Start

Students in Mrs. Liz Friddle's 2nd grade class are off to a great start this year.  On the first day of school they participated in a hands-on activity called "Saving Sam".  Sam is the gummy worm whose boat capsized!  The students had to problem-solve and cooperate to get Sam into his life preserver (a peach gummy ring).  The challenge was the students could NOT use their fingers.  They were given paper clips and popsicle sticks as tools.  This activity was so much fun and the students all did a fantastic job working as a team to save Sam!
