1.  You Tube:  Fitness Blender Kids Workout.  Complete as much of the workout below as you can.  It is a 26 minute video with a warm-up, 2 water breaks and cool down.  Please work at your own pace and stop the video to take more breaks if needed.  Link is below.
 
2.  PDF File - Printable Juggling Cards (for you to keep).  Your SKILL activity is Juggling! Juggle by yourself or with parents & siblings! Use toilet paper rolls (I know these are in short supply so DON'T juggle near water!), rolled up socks or anything soft you can find......and please, oh please do NOT juggle near mom's favorite vase, the chili on the stove OR in your sister or brother's rooms without their permission!

1. You Tube : Kids Workout! by Jumpin Jax Gym.  This video is a high energy workout that lasts 25 minutes and it includes a warm-up, workout (one part uses weights so be creative and find things around the house that you can safely lift if you don't have weights) and a cool down.  Again, work at your own pace and take breaks if you need them.  The link is below:
 
2.  PDF Files - Printable Overhand Throwing and Catching (for you to keep) AND these files are REALLY cool because they have a QR code at the bottom.  Just point your QR Code Reader app (you can download on the app store or google play) on your phone or tablet and up pops a You Tube video showing you how to correctly do this skill! 
Practice your overhand throwing and catching outside because it's supposed to be B.E.A -utiful!
ONLY do #3 below IF you didn't fill one out yesterday!  If you submitted a google form yesterday then you are good until next week!

MONDAY APRIL 6TH: Pe-Learning : 2 ACTIVITIES - no form to fill out yet!  Yay!
 
1.  FAT CAT or CHUBBY SLOTH work out!  This is a 7 minute work-out, however, don't be fooled...it's tough!  You can adjust the setting on this workout in order to get a longer sweat going if you really need it by clicking the link below, choosing either FAT CAT or CHUBBY SLOTH and then clicking the word "setting" in the upper right hand corner; here you can adjust the time of the workout and make it longer if you want.  Each exercise lasts 29 seconds long with only a 5 second break in between!   I would suggest watching the video first so you get an idea of what you will be doing.
 
The 12 exercises you will do are:

  4.  Abdominal Crunches (sit ups)

2.  UNDERHAND THROWING - PDF Files - Printable UNDERHAND TOSSING (for you to keep)!
These files are REALLY cool because they have a QR code at the bottom.  Just point your QR Code Reader app (you can download on the app store or google play) on your phone or tablet and up pops a You Tube video showing you how to correctly do this skill!    
 
This is a BRAND NEW skill, so read the cues at the bottom of the poster and use the QR code reader and watch the You Tube Vid!
 
Make it Fun!  Use your bean bag games if you have any at home or set up some plastic bowls, boxes, hoops, bins, buckets, baskets or anything else safe that you can find to toss into.  If you don't have a ball then use a crumpled up piece of paper or foil or even some rolled up socks!  If you have a sibling you can create a game and make each bin worth a certain amount of points - the winner gets a popsicle!  (......hopefully you have one at home because I'm still practicing social distancing)! 
 
Make it challenging!   Use chairs and try to toss a flat, soft object like a bean bag ONTO the chair or even the back of the chair!
TUESDAY.  APRIL 7TH -  2 activities. - NO GOOGLE FORM TO FILL OUT YET!
1.  GOOOOOOO NOODLE!!   WORKOUT!
GoNoodle is an awesome app that you can download on your phone, tablet or join on your laptop.  Students use GoNoodle often in their classrooms, PE and probably even at home with you! 
 
There are 2 links for your workout today, but YOU ONLY HAVE TO CHOOSE ONE.  The first one is longer with a warm-up and cool down at the end.  The second one is much shorter but much higher energy and more intense.

2.  GOOOOOO NOODLE WORKOUT!  "Geocentric" 5 minutes and 14 seconds
Only 5 minutes but you'll feel the heat!  This HIGH INTENSITY video includes a quick warm-up, breather and cool down.  Remember to pause the video if you need to take more breaks and SIP water, don't chug it.

Finish up your work for this past week if you haven't completed and then fill out the google form in my Google Classroom.

1.  TABATA WORKOUT - "Tabata" workouts are a form of high-intensity physical training in which very short periods of demanding activity are alternated with shorter periods of rest, typically over a period of four minutes.  In THIS Tabata you'll be able to choose between 3 different exercises for each Justice League SUPERHERO!   This video is 6:40 long with 39 seconds of work and 10 seconds of rest in between.   Make sure to cool down when the video ends by stretching or doing some yoga.

THIS:    WORKOUT....SOMEONE ELSE'S NAME!  There are two choices below; choose ONE or BOTH (mix them up if you want to), put some of your favorite rockin' music on and workout someone else's name by finding your letters and doing the activities.
THAT:    THE FLOOR (OR GROUND) IS LAVA!!!!  ADULT SUPERVISION IS REQUIRED to make sure you don't do anything too risky or use things you're not supposed to. The idea of this activity is much like "safety island"; no part of your body is allowed to touch the ground or floor as you travel along the path you create! Make your safety island as big or small as you can inside or outside. You can use lines on the floor or ground, blankets, towels, recycled paper scraps, pillows, couch cushions or anything you can find that is not dangerous or not allowed to be used. However, IF you do touch the ground or floor before you make it to safety island you may perform ANY exercise on the letters in the above charts. EARTH DAY!  WEDNESDAY, APRIL 22ND - GET OUTSIDE, GET OUTSIDE, GET OUTSIDE!  
It's supposed to be a great day today so get out there, enjoy some fresh air and make sure you SEE people, but please still practice social distancing!   Just remember to do something you love every day, find something funny to read or watch every day and tell the people in your life you love them every day.   
 
Ride your bike, touch the green grass, smell the fresh air, yell "hello" to your neighbor, run around and play....but don't spit in the wind.......cuz it'll come right back in your face!  (ewwwww.)

THURSDAY, APRIL 23RD -  CLEAN IT UP AND WORK IT OUT!
 
In honor of ABC countdown, your activity is related to cleaning your room!   Ask mom or dad to set a timer for a reasonable amount of time.  IF your room is clean within that amount of time you win!  (and hopefully get a treat......from them, not me).  However, if time runs out and you're not done OR you ARE done but things are out of place, the workout begins!
 
The "price tags" are below in the PDF file.   Mom or dad can assign the price tag to any item that is out of place.........ewwwwwwww!   Good luck!
 
FRIDAY, APRIL 24th -  GAME DAY!!!   Virtual Tag and Google Form

MONDAY, APRIL 27TH - "CATCH UP DAY" and ABC COUNTDOWN "EXERCISE DAY!"
 
Well, good morning!   There are some students that are in major need of a "catch up" day for their specials classes so I am offering that today.   If you are already caught up, thank your mom and dad who have worked very hard to keep it that way and get outside and enjoy some fresh air in between the rain drops!  Or......get outside and ENJOY the rain drops!   No google form until Friday, but third graders get ready for some challenges coming this week!

TUESDAY, APRIL 28TH -  "FAMILY DAY"!

 

In honor of ABC countdown we're celebrating FAMILY DAY by EXERCISING TOGETHER!!!!  Grab your family and choose between ONE of the three youtube family workout videos below.

 

Grab your family, put on your fitbit, Polar Heart Rate Monitor or any other heart rate monitor you might have and get moving!!!

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 29TH -  "GREEN or GOLD"?

 

Today we're celebrating GREEN day for our ABC countdown so besides wearing GREEN or GOLD or BOTH you have to decide......are you GREEN or are you GOLD?  For this activity you will need a coin to flip or a die to roll.  Set a timer and roll a die or flip a coin for 10 minutes or longer up to 20 minutes.   Use the chart below to see what to do and the amounts to do.   Try to remember to keep track of your rolls or coin flips to see whether you are GREEN or GOLD when time is up!

Today's activity is NOT required so you don't have to do this if you don't want to.  Those of you that are not caught up with your PE activities and google forms please use this time to get some of those done.   Many of you ARE completely caught up with your PE/Health activities and all four google forms so I thought I would give you something you could make and use!   The link below shows you how to make a homemade stethoscope!   A stethoscope is what a doctor or nurse uses to............

You get a FREE day, you get a FREE day!  PLEASE use this time wisely......catch up on PREVIOUS Remote Learning in any of your classes and do something physically active for YOU!  Ride your bike, play catch with a tree, take a walk with your dog or spin around and fall down in the grass.  I promise, things will get better - take care of you, take care of mom and dad and enjoy the beautiful sunshine today.  I miss you all so very much.

MONDAY, MAY 11TH - "oh, APPY day!  Ohhhhh APPY dayyy!"

OK, so the song I'm referring to above is REALLY "Oh HAPPY day!",  however, today is APPy day! 

 

I have some really cool app suggestions for you to try out this week (with mom and dad's approval of course!).  All apps are kid friendly and most are free to download. 

 

Today is NOT a REQUIRED PE DAY if you need to catch up on work.  I found these apps over a month ago and today is a great day to share them!   Go to the APP store of GOOGLE PLAY and look up the apps below!

 

  • Balance It is a Task Card Resource for PE Teachers. A simple and powerful way to provide students with visual prompts and cues designed to help them develop Gymnastic skills.   Available for $1.99 thru the APP store or Google Play.
 
  • Sworkit Kids is an exercise and fitness app aimed at students in elementary and middle school, though it can be used for students of all ages and even adults. The app guides students through exercise routines focusing on strength, agility, flexibility, and balance, such as doing the crab crawl, squats, or side plank.  Once you sign in you can choose the "KIDS WORKOUT" section.  Free download available thru APP store or Google Play.
     
  • AR RUNNER APP.  This one is my absolute FAVORITE because it creates an augmented reality graph on any surface you want to use. Play indoors or outside! AR Runner is a one-of-a-kind competitive augmented reality game. However, THIS free app is only available for IOS devices.  You'll have to check google play for similar augmented reality apps.

  • Sweat Deck for IOS and Shred Deck for ANDROID is a Deck of Cards workout app that will help you mix up your fitness routine and provides an endless combination of workouts!  This is one of my favorites as well!!

 

TUESDAY, MAY 12TH - ESCAPE ROOM IN YOUR PJS!
 
Happy PJ Day! OK, so I'm giving you something you can do today in your PJs, however, I'm HOPING you all can actually get in to play these games. One of the things we were unable to do this school year is some teamwork or team building activities and one of the best games I had planned were "escape room" games.

The platform we were going to use is called "Breakout EDU". The games I had planned were all PHYSICAL games, meaning you were going to work in your teams to solve clues and hopefully break out (or in this case break IN to the locked box and find out what was inside).

However, the company has allowed any of my students to access DIGITAL games for free because I purchased the license for the whole school year!

All of the games are puzzles that need to be solved and each game has about 4 or more locks that need to be opened. Locks will open once you solve that certain puzzle.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 13TH -  "QUENCH YOUR THIRST DAY"

 

We're celebrating quench your thirst day by investigating WHY we need water and WHAT happens when your body and brain needs water. 

 

There are TWO videos and TWO workouts below but you only have to choose ONE of the videos and ONE of the workouts.

THURSDAY, MAY 14TH - "RUNNING DAY"
 
Take a jog today and feel the sunshine and fresh air!   After that take the day off from PE and use this time to CATCH UP on any PREVIOUS remote learning.   We're starting to wind down the remote learning and I want to give you some more time to finish up any work you need to get done.
 
However, I know there are many of you out there that REALLY like or loved the Breakout EDU digital puzzle games so I've added a few more.  These are NOT mandatory.   Have fun and call or face time a friend and work on these together!  Watch the video on "How to Play Breakout EDU Digital Games" first if you haven't played these before:
